I woke up around 6, cleared a bunch of notifications on my phone, then went down to the galley. I filled up my water bottle and decided to go ahead and get a french toast burger. I sat out on the Deck 15 back porch, and it was a very foggy morning. I brought a coffee back to the cabin, and have been updating this travelogue. Today is a day at sea, and I think we’re going to put down our deposit for the next cruise.

Back in the room, I caught up on some youtube notifications, took a bit of a nap, and then when Shannon was up we decided to go to the galley for a breakfast. I got a plain bagel with cream cheese, smoked salmon and onion. I also had a couple hash browns. Shannon also got a bagel with cream cheese, and some bacon and hash browns. I picked up a bento box of fruit to finish it off. I had a coffee from the galley, and we went down to the coffee shop for Shannon to get a mocha, which she did not enjoy.

We played some cards in the coffee shop, including gin rummy, speed, go fish, garbage, and blackjack. Practicing blackjack has saved us a ton of money, because we haven’t gone to the casino, since I keep not earning big money playing it for fun against Shannon.

We got an ice cream after playing cards. I had rum raisin, which was OK. Shannon got the brown butter almond, which was really good. We contemplated putting down the $150 deposit for another cruise, but none of the ones that would potentially work for us time-wise were really appealing. How good could the port stops on an Alaska cruise be? How would you entertain yourself for more than an hour or two at small Alaska towns? Maybe it is great, but we decided to hold off for now.

It was pool time. We managed to get a spot in the smaller pool, which we enjoyed for a couple hours. After that we went back to the room to relax for a bit, then I went down to pick us up a couple pizzas. I got the funghi and Shannon had pepperoni, but she didn’t like it, so I ended up having most of it.

Tonight we have The Wake steakhouse for dinner, which we’ve already done twice. I wish we were going back to the Mexican place, which had the best steak.

We should be able to leave our bags out to get the staff to transport them down to the terminal for us. We’ve got a car arranged to take us to the airport tomorrow. I’ve got us checked in. We’ll be home around midnight or 1 AM on Thursday. When I get home, I need to immediaately feed the sourdough starter, trim my nails, and pet the dog. We’re ready to be home, other than ther terrible amount of time we’re going to have to spend flying, and having to go back to work.

The final dinner at The Wake was at 5:45, which was the first time slot at the reservation restaurants. I skipped all the starters and sides and ordered both the NY strip and the filet. The filet was great, wish I’d just ordered that the whole time. The strip was fine, but not nearly as tender. Once again they provided roasted garlic with both of the steaks, and I ate both garlics. Shannon had the hanger steak.

At 8pm after the dinner was the drawing for the Bulova watch. It took til the 3rd draw for someone who was actually present with the ticket. The winner was 4 away from my ticket. The 2nd one was close to Shane’s.

Shannon and Lisa went to a show, so I went up to the room and finished packing and put my stuff outside to be picked up by the porters. After she got home, Shannon did the same, and we were in for the night with nothing left but one change of clothes for the next day, plus the bags we’d be carrying out. We watched a movie called “The House” with Amy Pohlert and Will Farrel that was actually pretty funny.
